Foreman Job Description
Primary Purpose:
The Foreman is responsible for managing field operations, ensuring project safety, overseeing employees, and contributing to company profitability by delivering projects that meet or exceed industry standards.
Typical Duties:
- Manage single or multiple large projects from turnover to closeout.
- Supervise and coordinate field employees, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Train and update field staff on safety and proper procedures.
- Serve as the liaison between field staff and office personnel.
- Handle job planning, including two-week look-ahead scheduling with the Project Manager.
- Assist with employee evaluations, hiring, training, and discipline when required.
- Ensure all tools and equipment meet company safety standards.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of field experience and 5+ years in a Foreman role.
- Completion of an apprenticeship, trade school, or military training program.
- Must hold an OSHA 30-hour safety certificate.
- Multi-discipline experience in at least two trades (Plumber, Welder, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
Journeyman Plumber Job Description
Primary Purpose:
- Assemble, install, or repair piping systems for stormwater, sanitary DWV, domestic water, medical fluids, acid waste, fuel oils, fuel gases, or heating water.
- Install or repair fixtures and equipment for stormwater removal, sanitary disposal, laboratory disposal, drinking, medical waste disposal, burning, or heat generation.
Typical Duties:
- Study building plans and working drawings.
- Inspect structures for obstructions.
- Mark pipe positions and connections.
- Cut openings in walls and floors.
- Cut and thread pipes.
- Bend pipes to required angles.
- Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
- Join pipes using various methods.
- Test pipe systems for leaks.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures and equipment.
- May weld pipes and fixtures.
Requirements:
- Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Experience with brazing copper (preferred).
- Ability to visualize objects in three dimensions and draw isometrics.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read and apply plumbing codes, specifications, and blueprints.
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper procedures.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
Journeyman Pipefitter Job Description
Primary Purpose:
- Layout, fabricate, assemble, and install carbon and stainless steel piping for industrial processing systems.
Typical Duties:
- Understand rigging for safe pipe movement.
- Prep material for welding.
- Follow blueprints to construct and install piping systems.
- Inspect and test installed systems.
- Manage job costs to ensure profitability.
- Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety policies.
Requirements:
- Proficiency with computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
