Responsibilities and Duties:
1.Responsible for all on sight activity regarding manpower, materials and scheduling. Is the point of contact for the customer/general contractor/owner.
2.Ensures safety is the number one priority on the job-site. Conducts pre-safety meeting before job begins as well as weekly safety reports and toolbox talks. Will have completed the OSHA 30-hour training at a minimum.
3.Conducts appropriate preplanning when assigned a new job such as reviewing all plans and specs, identifying pre-fab opportunities, understanding scope of work. Other items to preplan would be material take off, size of crew and tools and equipment needed.
4.Directs all coordination issues. Reviews drawings with CAD designer before printing and then signs off on those drawings. Reviews and signs off on all drawings going to the FAB shop. Attends all coordination meetings that involve our scope of work.
5.Minimizes downtime by scheduling all work to be performed by employees, other trades and subs. Lays out all work for crew at least one week in advance. Ensures all tools, equipment and material are on-site when needed and returned when not needed. Has a contingency plan to ensure crew is always productive.
6.Ensures productivity standards are being met or exceeded by checking the estimate versus actual installation. Utilizes the Four Week Look Ahead and sets goals for the team to improve productivity and rewards them when the goals are met.
7.Handles all orders and deliveries, ordering only what is needed, keeping returns to a minimum. Follows up on back orders and releases PO’s as needed. Orders material by area.
8.Communicates at least one time per week with the Project Manager going over Productivity, RFI’s, Submittals, Schedules, manpower issues, etc.
9.Walks the job to inspect progress, quality, and safety.
10.Manages personnel, subs, and vendors appropriately, building teamwork and morale by making fair and honest decision making.
11.Closes out each job by ensuring all final testing is complete and that start-up of equipment and demonstration is signed off on a company form by the owner and then turned over to the Project Manager. Completes valve tag chart and stenciling and ensures as-built drawings are complete and turned over to the Project Manager. Completes the punch-list and has owner sign off.
12.Cleans up and demobilizes each job by returning all excess material to suppliers (giving a list to the Project Manager) and cleaning out trailers (sweep and mop office trailer).
13.All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 5 years commercial experience in field HVAC.
- Stable work history.
Job Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Knowledge of general HVAC and piping installation.
- Ability to fabricate offsets.
- Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
- Able to do basic take offs
- Able to install equipment
- Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong math skills
Physical Requirements:
- Eyesight correctable to 20/50
- Able to work long hours on feet.
- Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds
- Able to perform shift work
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must not be afraid of heights
Education:
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Trade School a plus
Special Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must provide their own basic hand tools
- Able to operate heavy machinery
- CPR certification
- OSHA 30 certification
Annual Salary Range: $85,000-$105,000
