The company is seeking a Master Ammonia Refrigeration Engineer who has knowledge and experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and industrial refrigeration systems. This position demands a unique blend of technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving skills, and rigorous adherence to safety protocols. This individual will also have the opportunity to be a leader by overseeing a team of colleagues with less experience. All work is in and around the metro Atlanta area. The company has over 20 years as a trusted and preferred commercial HVAC mechanical service and construction provider in Atlanta.
Job Responsibilities:
- Pass a physical, pulmonary test, SCBA fit test, and meet the requirement for a HAZMAT
- Observe and test industrial refrigeration system operation
- Perform preventative maintenance on ammonia refrigeration systems
- Troubleshoot issues with refrigeration systems
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure system efficiency and safety
- Communicate effectively with other members of the team
- Have the ability to direct and train other ammonia service operators
- Document all repair details in accordance with company procedures
- Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory to ensure needed equipment is available
- Maintain safe working environments by complying with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience in refrigeration service with ammonia
- Graduation from a technical school or program in the area of study / CARO and/or CIRO Certifications
- Able to inspect equipment, identify potential problems, and take appropriate corrective action
- Able to troubleshoot and perform repairs independently
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations
- Pass a physical examination and respirator fit testing
- Availability to be on call on nights and weekends, as needed
- Have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Has basic technical skills and can use computers and electronic systems
- Organized, self-motivated, and a strong work ethic
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety

Position type/ Work hours:
This is a full-time position. It includes working 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Travel to job sites in plant environments is expected. Individuals must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job.
