Responsibilities:
- The HVAC mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all HVAC equipment.
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all HVAC equipment
- Repair and preventative maintenance on all ice machines quarterly and maintains logs
- Maintain all refrigerators
- Perform basic plumbing functions
- Assemble tubing or fittings using couplings, screws, bolts, or soldering and brazing equipment
- Analyze the operation of various systems, and determine the cause of any malfunctions and take corrective action as required
- Perform preventative maintenance on all base building and critical equipment which includes but not limited, to assembling all tools, supplies and instruments necessary to complete the task
- Maintain tools and order supplies as required for installation and repairs
- Report problems or malfunctions
- Keep logs, document equipment repairs, close work orders, track time accurately in reports and provide timely and constant communication with the Facilities’ Leadership Team
- Comply with department’s policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous waste materials
- Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs, and maintenance of building and equipment
- Perform any and all other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years’ experience as an HVAC mechanic
- Valid NJ driver’s license
- Knowledge of Siemens EMS systems
- Available to work flexible hours and or on call shifts as needed
- Ability to climb ladders work in crawl spaces
- Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions included but not limited to, hot, cold, outdoors, dry humid areas, heights, and congested areas
- Skilled in use of tools and machinery required for this position
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes
- Must be able to lift 50lb.
