SUMMARY:
Performs installation of new equipment, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience in pulling electrical wiring through electrical conduit and terminating electrical panels, set fixtures, outlets, and various electrical devices along with installing and connecting wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, or other components and systems.
- Must have experience with installing, bending, and removing conduit and installing and replacing lighting fixtures/systems, and with electrical panels, transformers, switches, motors, etc.
- Inspects, tests, installs and repairs electrical circuits.
- Use of electrical tools and multimeter.
- Must be able to program and have experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Must be familiar with updated NEC codes.
- Troubleshooting and installing electrical equipment and instrumentation. Understand operation of automatic transfer switches. Perform non-factory repairs.
- Perform scheduled instrument calibrations in compliance with established procedures.
- Record calibration results and actions taken in computerized data file. Communicate deficiencies to supervision per instrument control procedures.
- Perform initial set-up and configuration of new instruments.
- Regular interfacing with internal and external quality/customer audits.
- Data management, filing and organizational skills.
- Proficient with variable frequency drives.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of 5yrs experience. Ability to program for industrial instrumentation or appropriate prior experience.
- Proficient working with 208 volts and three phase circuits.
- Proficient understanding of electrical and electronic systems with ability to diagnose and correct problems.
- Calibration technician in-house training in standard procedures.
- Demonstrated mechanical and electrical background.
- Working knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out, NFPA 70E and other required safety procedures.
- Computer knowledge pertaining to data entry and database use.
- Continuous standing and walking with minimal sitting.
- Able to bend, twist, kneel in and around machines- involves frequent, constant, continuous, and repetitive motions.
- Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Climbing up and down ladders.
