Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical work, including knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and proficiency in both low voltage and commercial electrical systems. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading and the ability to work effectively on construction sites. As a Journeyperson Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations and repairs are completed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout of electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete electrical installations.
- Conduct tests using voltmeters and other diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on-site.
- Perform low voltage wiring installations as needed for various applications.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as voltmeters.
- Experience in frame carpentry is a plus but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team on construction sites.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
