The Adjunct Plumbing Instructor will be responsible for teaching Plumbing courses across the immersion, fusion, and traditional modalities of learning. This on-campus position will support students, contractors, and NTI stakeholders in the fulfillment of National Technical Institute’s organizational goals.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice of the various aspects of plumbing subject areas
- Prepares lesson plans and reports on students’ attainment and progress
- Maintains accurate information in CRM on student attendance, progress, and other related information
- Proactively contacts students to encourage progress towards graduation
- Ensures that appropriate safety policies and procedures are developed and implemented in NTI Labs
- Maintains program equipment and lab areas
- Supports the oversight of inventory, including ordering and receiving
- Keeps abreast of technical changes in the field and maintains up to date course material
- Participates in professional development and training activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise in the area taught
- Assists with new adjunct instructor training and other academic quality initiatives
- Attends NTI meetings, advises students, facilitates lab support and tutoring
- Supports campus orientation and graduation events
- Develops contractor relationships and participates in community relations initiatives
- Substitutes for classes at different NTI locations
- Any other duties as directed by the Campus Director

Education and Experience:
- Diploma (or equivalent) required
- Completion of trade apprenticeship preferred
- Three to five years of relevant work experience

· Travel required to NTI campuses for instruction
· The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position is also required to climb, balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping.
· The physical requirements of the position are for heavy work, exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
· The employee is required to have the visual acuity to perform an activity to perform the skilled trade of a technician.
· The employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions; extreme heat; extreme noise; vibrations; hazards such as mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding, roof tops, and on ladders; atmospheric conditions; and frequent close quarters.
