We are currently seeking an entry-level full-time Energy Engineer/Building Commissioning Engineer. The position is based out of our office in Austin, Texas.

We help our clients achieve lower energy use, smaller carbon footprint and improved comfort and system reliability by optimizing the performance of complex building energy systems. At Bee, you will be working alongside highly experienced engineers including Ph.D. or Master Degrees and P.E. licenses in a diversified and dynamic environment in the building energy efficiency industry.
Job Duties
Work as part of a team assisting in ASHRAE energy/water assessments, Investment Grade Audits (IGA), master planning, building automation, HVAC controls and operational optimization, design review and new building commissioning, existing building Retro-Commissioning (RCx), TAB, and other energy engineering consulting assignments. Job duties will include but not limit to the following:
- Evaluate building energy performance through field measurements, modeling, simulations, and analyses
- Review architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans, drawings and specifications for energy efficiency improvement opportunities
- Analyze utility bills and sub-metered energy consumption data
- Develop and implement specific energy conservation and efficiency optimization measures
- Deliver professional engineering reports and technical documentations under supervision
- Conduct assessment, field investigation, trouble-shooting, testing, calibration, and operational optimization of HVAC and controls systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering with 0-2-year experience in energy consulting, audit, building commissioning/retro-commissioning, and HVAC
- Experience with building controls, TAB, energy modeling (with Excel, eQuest, EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, etc.), and M&V is preferred
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in MS Excel, Word
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with professional technical report writing skills
Security/Travel:
- U.S. citizen
- Domestic travel is required.
- International travel is occasional ( Europe and Asia).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
