Superintendent
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports To: General Superintendent and Director of Garrett Mechanical
Supervises: Subcontractors
Reports Required: Daily Reports and Quality Control Reports
Major Objectives: The superintendent is responsible for executing the plumbing and HVAC activities on the assigned project. These activities and tasks include self-performing work at the General Superintendent’s direction, managing the subcontractors, ensuring the quality of the installations, ensuring local ordinance licensing compliance at all times, coordinating with the general contractor and other trades, maintaining the production schedules, and ensuring the work is completed within the budgets for the project.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Verify license compliance daily and take ownership of compliance
- Install work as directed by the General Superintendent
- Set, track, and verify the work of subcontractors or laborers daily
- Receive and manage project material, manage waste and usage of materials to meet allocated budgets
- Verify the quality of installations daily, document installations and repair any deficiencies if and when they occur
- Coordinate all aspects of the install with the GC and other trades
- Adjust production rates to meet the schedule and provide good feedback to the project team
- Operate, maintain, and care for heavy equipment and tools
- Operate assigned project within allocated budgets
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies on assigned project site
- Ensure any required locates are obtained
- Keep a neat and orderly site and material storage area
- Identify and communicate any plan discrepancies
- Detailed daily reports and documentation of quality of installations
Prerequisites:
- Plumbing License Required
- Journeyman Preferred
- Ability to operate independently and effectively report in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to build consensus, manage details, and anticipate issues.
- Ability to understand a goal and work as a team to achieve such.
- Operate within budgetary parameters to get the job done.
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to think 2+ steps ahead and anticipate what comes next.

Physical Demands
