EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Two years verifiable electrical field experience
LICENSE :
Possess and maintain an Apprentice Electrician License with the State of Texas as prescribed under TDLR, Title 8, Chapter 1305.158
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
Perform electrical work as assigned and overseen by a Journeyman or Master Electrician. This includes but is not limited to: installation, modifications, repairs and preventive maintenance associated with electrical equipment and systems used within the North East Independent School District.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists in the installation, modification and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems under the supervision of a Journeyman or Master Electrician.
2. Ability to complete assigned electrical work with minimal supervision.
3. Reports to work on time every day.
4. Maintains confidentiality of information.
5. Regularly required to drive District vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.
6. Follows District safety guidelines.
7. Performs additional duties and accepts responsibilities as my be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: - Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination to include vision, hearing, alcohol and drug testing
- Knowledge and skills to perform electrical repairs in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) regulations and requirements
- Working knowledge of electrical blueprints
- Working knowledge of 3-phrase systems and proper phrasing related to motor rotation
- Working knowledge of power transformers, principles of operation, limitations and sizing
- Working knowledge of electrical theory and code requirements
- Working knowledge of Chapter 10, City of San Antonio Electrical Code
- Working knowledge of trade safety precautions
- Working knowledge and understanding of NEC and NFPA regulations and requirements
- Working knowledge of conductor sizing, resistance, amp capacity, voltage rating, etc.
- Working knowledge of trade tools, instruments and their proper use and limitations
- Working knowledge of trade safety precautions
- Moderate proficiency in the use of a computer and knowledge and ability to use and/or learn to use Maintenance Software
- Capable of assisting with new installations
- Capable of maintenance electrical work with minimum supervision
- Valid Texas Drivers License with a driving record that meets the requirements as set forth by the District
