Marketing and Communications Manager
The Manager and Communications of Marketing holds primary responsibility for the organization’s marketing activities, developing and executing strategic marketing objectives for the business. Join a small business that has been in business for over 20 years and has about 18 FTE employees.
Job Summary:
- Uplevel the communications materials review process and ensure all content is produced in compliance with global regulations in a manner that is most efficient for all stakeholders.
- Design a strategic plan to increase visibility across touchpoints such as industry events, podcasts, and third-party content. Direct the development and execution of marketing initiatives, including lead/prospect generation, sales collateral (audio/video/informational materials), tradeshows, campaigns, social site(s) presence, company website, public relations, and public recognition.
- Develop high-impact communication briefings and written and multimedia communications to equip the company to deliver on goals and objectives with all audiences. Ensure new marketing campaigns and programs are aimed at reaching sales targets. Manage brand delivery and consistency across all markets for all departments. Determine projects that should be completed internally and externally.
- Manage relationships with outside vendors as necessary. Establish a style and approach that meets the company brand, values, and expectations.
- Plan for and create a consistent and engaging internal communications content pipeline for employees, utilizing various channels such as external events, internet, email, video, website, and blog posts
- Craft impactful internal communications, including executive messages, business updates, success stories, and organization announcements. Drive continual process improvements and implement best practices to manage projects efficiently.
- Incorporate metrics, insights, and data to inform audience targeting and optimization of communications approach. Manage department budget. Achieve goals and financial objectives. Develop budgets (in cooperation with bookkeeping) for the marketing program and its activities. Take corrective action to guarantee that marketing objectives are achieved within designated budgets.
- Leverage the Firm’s brand strategy and the collective team’s expertise, tools, and tactics. Collaborate closely with other managers from their respective departments to optimize marketing and sales for those departments.
- Provide weekly Marketing reports.
Responsibiliites:
· Web Site Management - Maintain & manage all website operations, upgrades, theme changes, etc.
· Promotions—Develop and maintain promotional material for sales prospects, including email, text, social media, collateral materials, etc. campaigns. Help organize and develop marketing material and then promote prospective sales events. Hire and manage sales personnel in conjunction with the Executive Director.
· Development—Work with the development team to maximize interest and prospect generation. Create and post promotional content as needed.
· Staff Information/Educational Support – Maintain online video database for videos.
· Events – Plan, market, manage, and execute events designed to promote all arms of the organization and increase public awareness.
· Blogs & Newsletters – Facilitate blog content creation and fully integrate across all social media.
· Social Media—Maximize and budget FB, TW, IN (or any other viable modes of Social Media) for more targeted outreach to potential prospects across all arms of the organization.
· Email Management – Maintain and maximize email communication with sales prospects.
· Google Ad Words or other Pay-Per-Click Marketing – Plan, budget, execute & manage PPC campaigns.
· Print – Plan, budget, develop, and execute print marketing campaigns when appropriate.
· Promotional Video—Schedule, shoot, edit, upload, and embed promotional/educational video content across marketing campaigns for all arms of the organization.
· Analytics – Produce analytics for all marketing & sales campaigns across all forms of media.
· Department Manual Development - Create a department manual detailing job processes and reporting, including screenshots.
· Maintain Confidentiality of all Organizational Information—Maintain a high level of confidentiality and personal judgment regarding information disseminated during meetings, planning sessions, or personnel discussions, including sensitive subjects regarding financials or personnel, until management decides to release any of the aforementioned information to the public.
· Budget Management - The Managing Director must approve all expenses in the Marketing Budget before purchasing. Non-budgeted items do not count against the total costs in the Marketing Budget.
· Income Management - Review monthly income reports with previous years to compare sales and expenditures, optimize growth, and continue increasing revenue.
Qualifications:
- Experience designing and executing proven communications programs.
- Strong experience/knowledge of techniques for driving reputation and brand and advancing messaging in the market.
- Skilled writer and editor with outstanding attention to detail.
- Strict control over quality to include data accuracy and information and approval processes.
- Skilled project manager who can work effectively under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously; experience working with external resources to execute and drive project goals.
- Adaptability and flexibility to situations and ever-changing demands and priorities.
- Resourceful problem solver and team player.
- Candidate should be well versed in Microsoft Suite, WordPress, Canva, Photoshop
