A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN HVAC PURCHASING MANAGER
As an HVAC Purchasing Manager, you are responsible for making sure we always have the materials and equipment we need to get the job done. You coordinate across departments to understand what is needed and make adjustments based on seasonal fluctuations in business. Then, you order materials appropriately, taking care to stay within minimum and maximum inventory levels at all times and to restore inventory in a timely manner. You form strong relationships with our vendors to ensure that we always get the best prices and stay abreast of how the shifting commodity market can affect our business.
As our Purchasing Manager, you supervise other members of the purchasing team, taking the lead on hiring, training, and day-to-day operations. You also keep our leadership informed of the status of your department by communicating proactively and completing regular reports. Your satisfaction comes from leading a great team and seeing our business run smoothly because of your hard work!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN HVAC PURCHASING MANAGER
- 3+ years of purchasing management experience
- 3+ years of experience leading successful, productive teams
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Project management skills
- Ability to work overtime with little notice
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Valid driver's license
Purchasing management experience in a construction, HVAC, or home services environment is preferred. Are you an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing? WORK SCHEDULE FOR AN HVAC PURCHASING MANAGER
This full-time position has a flexible schedule but typically works Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some weekend work may be necessary.
