The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within our multifamily properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Maintenance:
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshooting & Repair:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and malfunctions.
- Perform necessary repairs or replacements of defective parts or components.
- Customer Service:
- Respond promptly to resident service requests and work orders related to HVAC issues.
- Communicate effectively with residents and property management staff regarding HVAC issues and resolutions.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure all HVAC systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Report any significant HVAC issues or required upgrades to the property management team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in HVAC preferred.
- EPA Certification required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, preferably in a multifamily or residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work on-call and respond to emergencies as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
