Employee Job Description:
- Electrician will be able to install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices required to install residential and light commercial solar PV systems.
- Install projects as contracted and designed.
- Proper installation of required materials.
- Electrician should be able to troubleshoot PV Systems and resolve electrical issues.
- Electricians should be knowledgeable of city requirements and codes for PV system installations, Main Panel Upgrades, Full-Service Upgrades, and Main Service Upgrade.
- Electrician should be experienced in pipe bending, running conduit, running and pulling wires.
- Ability to calculate the total load amperage ratings, wattages, KW & KVA sizes.
- Installing raceways. (PVC, EMT, RIGID, FLEX, MC)
- Able to read blueprints, legend symbols, scale of plan, branch circuits, one-line and three-line diagram.
- Completion of all installations per all current electrical codes.
- Communicating with customers and follow a schedule for the jobs each day.
- Installing and wiring inverters, AC disconnects and other equipment.
- Performing meter can upgrades and service panel upgrades as needed.
- Installing all components of a residential solar system, including racking and solar panels.
- Bending conduit and pulling wire.
- Testing systems to ensure proper operation.
- Maintaining a clean jobsite and safe working environment.
- Effective use all issued personal protective equipment.
- Working in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintaining high levels of installation quality.
- Troubleshooting and servicing existing solar systems.
Job Skill and Knowledge Requirement:
- Knowledge of local electrical codes,
- Knowledge of residential PV design and components
- Knowledge of basic trades: roofing, carpentry, plumbing, and metal framing.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring schematics, and electrical instructions.
- Ability to make field changes and communicate with Project Manager.
- Ability to test voltages from 10V – 1000VDC / 120V – 480VAC.
- Ability to receive and distribute instructions.
- Ability to communicate problems to Project Manager.
- Ability to drive a truck and trailer safely.
Job Requirements:
- Journeyman/Journeywoman's License (Minimum Requirement)
- Reliable transportation.
- Experience in working outdoors under demanding weather conditions.
- Significant experience in the use of power tools (impact drivers, drills, hammers and various saws, grinders, etc.)
- Experience with drywall, mortar, and siding is a plus.
- Ability to safely handle power tools, hand tools as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Ability to understand and read electrical instructions and blueprints.
- The ability to lift and carry 50 or more pounds regularly in extreme temperatures on high sloped and uneven surfaces.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work at great heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders, and stairs.
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- Flexible work shifts, with weekend availability.
- Excellent attendance is essential for the team to achieve success.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Must be able to meet OSHA equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310lbs.
