Job Summary
Episcopal High School is seeking a Maintenance Technician to complete daily work orders, preventative maintenance work orders, and emergency calls. The successful candidate should have a subject matter expertise in commercial HVAC mechanical systems, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, kitchen refrigeration and heating equipment, and other miscellaneous commercial systems. This position does not necessarily require a journeyman or master's license, but it is not discouraged. This position will perform all areas of maintenance, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, drywall, painting, carpentry, and other similar tasks.
Essential Functions:
· Subject matter expertise in commercial HVAC
· Working knowledge of all commercial electrical, plumbing, and low voltage systems is required
· Safely repair the school’s mechanical systems by using both power and hand tools
· Paint interior and exterior surfaces.
· Utilize carpentry skills to repair cabinetry, doors, hardware, sheetrock, and other surfaces
· Complete preventative maintenance checklists and carry out all associated repairs.
· Effectively communicate with other faculty and staff, both in written and verbal forms
· Utilize the school’s maintenance work order program.
· Report all unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor or Director of Facilities
· Assist the Maintenance supervisor with all job-related tasks
· Uphold the values that are consistent with the mission of the school
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequently lift equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Must be able to work in indoor/outdoor settings, which includes varying climates (hot or cold conditions) for extended periods of time
- Works in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- Works with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
- Works at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
Experience:
· Experience in a school setting preferred.
· Three (3) or more years of maintenance experience.
Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), database applications, website-based systems, and HVAC controls
