Minimum Qualifications

Eighth grade. Must possess a Miami-Dade County Certificate of Competency as a Journeyman Plumber. Must possess a Driver s License. Must obtain a CDL/Class B and tanker endorsement within the probationary period. Must possess own hand tools. Must be able to work a permanent or rotating shift schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by federal law is a continuing condition of employment.

Recruitment Notes

This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, renovations, and replacements related to grease traps and sanitary sewer utility infrastructure system, including gravity piping and manhole collection systems, pumping facilities, and force main transmission piping systems located throughout MDAD facilities. Supervision is received from a technical or administrative superior who inspects work upon completion for satisfactory performance of equipment installed, repaired, or maintained.

CDL/Class B license and Tanker Endorsement is preferred.
