Randall Mechanical is currently seeking a top-tier Process Piping (Mechanical & Plumbing) Superintendent to work on large commercial/industrial projects around Central Florida and the Space Coast. Position Summary
Our Process Piping (Mechanical & Plumbing) Superintendent will be responsible for all aspects of on-the-ground performance of craft employees and sub-contractors performing preparation, installation, testing and commissioning of Mechanical and Plumbing systems. The Superintendent will direct daily progress and ensure adequate staffing, sufficient supplies and materials, timely deliveries of materials and maintain all necessary paperwork required. The Superintendent will study specifications to plan procedures for construction based on established starting and completion times.
Essential Functions
- Plan and supervise mechanical and plumbing trade activities - including determining methods, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule, and documenting actual daily activities and job progress.
- Coordinate assigned work with the work of different trades, company departments, or other contractors.
- Maintain liaison with project management, estimating, and planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and schedule.
- Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
- Monitor compliance with project and company safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- Maintain liaison with other departments, support trade activities and project schedule.
- Evaluate and document the work performance of assigned personnel.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of timesheets for assigned personnel.
- Perform additional assignments per the direction of the Project Manager(s).
- Supervises lead foremen, foremen, mechanics, and helpers.
- Forecast short and long-term manpower requirements on assigned projects.
- Accurately document changes in work scope.
- Prepare time and material estimates for directed contract changes.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Desired Qualification Requirements
- +/- 10 years of trade experience (including 5 years of supervisory experience) on commercial construction projects.
- Good verbal and writing skills, including the ability to read and apply the project plans and specifications, and the manufacturers' installation instructions and clearly communicate with customers, suppliers, other Randall employees, and other trades.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to lead, inspire and supervise large number of trade craft workers.
- Ability to evaluate accurately and document the skills and abilities of assigned personnel.
- Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet contract requirements.
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety procedures at all times.
- Ability to work well with others.
Physical Requirements
You must be able to lift a dead weight of at least 50 pounds and stand on your feet for several hours at a time. You must be able to bend, stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job, be able to respond quickly to sounds, move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, see and respond to dangerous situations, safely climb ladders while carrying tools/items, work in extreme weather, and properly wear personal protective gear.
