Position: HVAC Service Technician
Compensation: $31-50 hourly (depending on experience)
Type: Full-time (Permanent)
Our client employs more than 220 tradesmen, which allows them to accommodate jobs of all sizes with highly-qualified crews who understand the intricacies of the trade. Their facility has state-of-the-art equipment and provides ongoing education for all of their employees on safety training, innovations in product installation and service, and the latest HVAC codes.
As a member of the team, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing new job specifications, performing servicing, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance for a wide range of heating, cooling, and hot water equipment. This includes high efficiency and standard efficiency boilers, furnaces, central air/heat pumps, humidifiers, ductless mini splits, various hot water heaters including tankless technology, and smart thermostats and controls. You will also establish client relationships, generate new business, and handle paperwork and reporting using computer software.
Responsibilities:
- Service, maintain, and repair high efficiency and standard efficiency heating and cooling equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on listed heating, cooling, and hot water equipment
- Obtain and maintain necessary certifications, including QIV certification for new A/C installs
- Diagnose, repair, and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring
- Install and repair smart thermostats and controls, including wiring
- Generate additional work and service visits based on identified opportunities
- Handle paperwork, collect customer payments, and report results of service/maintenance calls using computer software
Competencies:
- Ability to perform all aspects of maintenance and repair on specified equipment
- Reading and interpreting schematics
- Soldering/brazing
- Proper and safe use of power tools
- Low voltage and control wiring
- Customer/client focus and teamwork orientation
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience servicing residential heating and cooling equipment
- Ability to stay current with trade-related technology and software
- Experience in maintaining customer/vendor relationships
- EPA Universal
- Refrigeration License preferred (not required)
- Oil license a plus
- Clean MA driver's license
- Pass a Background Check
