Position Overview: As a Journeyman Plumber at Bleuwave Plumbing, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial new construction projects. You will work closely with our project management team to ensure that all plumbing work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance:
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in commercial new construction projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
- Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all plumbing work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct inspections and tests of plumbing systems to identify and repair leaks or issues.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and other team members.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and less experienced plumbers.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and hours worked.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by project management.
- Track and report any issues or discrepancies in project plans or timelines.
- Quality Control:
- Perform quality control checks to ensure all installations meet Bleuwave Plumbing's high standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any plumbing issues that arise during or after the construction process.
- Recommend improvements or modifications to plumbing systems and processes.
Qualifications:
- Experience and Certification:
- Valid Journeyman Plumber license.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial plumbing, particularly in new construction.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools commonly used in the plumbing trade.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
- Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
