About you:
As our Commercial Electrical Service Technician you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that electrical systems comply with all safety and code regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in commercial buildings.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation of electrical systems.
- Install electrical equipment, fixtures, and wiring according to electrical codes and standards.
- Diagnose electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and tools.
- Identify and repair electrical problems, including faulty wiring, circuit breakers, and transformers.
- Perform repairs and replacements of electrical components as needed.
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry practices and technologies.
- Interact professionally with clients to provide updates on job status and answer any questions.
- Provide detailed explanations of work performed and recommendations for further action.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports and time logs.
- Update and maintain inventory of electrical parts and supplies.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for new installations and repairs
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid journeyman electrician license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial electrical technician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and electrical codes.
- Proficiency with electrical testing devices and hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an apprenticeship program or technical school preferred.
