Reporting to the Assistant Chief Engineer, the primary responsibility of the Engineer – Electrician is to install and maintain electrical systems and needs, property-wide. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Palms policies, practices, and procedures.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures reliability and safety of electrical systems
- Perform routine electrical preventive maintenance tasks
- Perform routine and specialized electrical equipment inspections as well as routine electrical and controls troubleshooting on various equipment including variable frequency drives, low voltage and medium voltage starters and switchgear, motors, etc.
- Provide support for new equipment start-up and supporting electrical activities
- Interface with all other facilities teams working closely with other contractors, engineers and client in conducting electrical testing and maintenance
- Duties may include repair work, preventative maintenance routines, new maintenance projects, facility maintenance, etc.

Qualifications:
- Ability to work from ladders
- Valid and current Journeyman (or Master) Electrician License within the state
- 4+ years of electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repair experience
- Ability to perform advanced electrical calculations
- Understanding of wire and conduit sizing as well as how to make adjustments for environmental factors
- Working knowledge and experience replacing commercial electrical services and distribution panels
- Working knowledge of the usage of a volt meter
- Ability to read and interpret one line drawings and electrical schematics
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred:

Three (3) years of experience at a hotel property

Must be 21 years old or older

Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States

High School Diploma or equivalent

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy
Physical Demands:
- Mobility to work in a typical shop or related maintenance setting, including operating typical trade equipment, hand and power tools and standard office equipment
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle to various work sites
- Stamina to stand, walk and climb and to work in confined or awkward spaces
- Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel
- Must be able to lift or pull up to 50lbs
- Vision to read printed materials; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over a radio or telephone. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment
