General purpose of the job
Must be dedicated to the safety of yourself and coworkers. Follow all company guidelines and safety standards. Holding customers and coworkers to the same level of safety standards.
Individual accountabilities
- To ensure that all appropriate safety and environmental standards are met when completing any form of electrical maintenance on plant equipment, plant utilities, or the plant infrastructure.
- To troubleshoot, repair and perform regular preventative maintenance on all plant motors (Low and Medium Voltage), and other related equipment.
- To perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Low and Medium Voltage circuit breakers, transformers, coils and other related electrical equipment.
- Perform all electrical repair work, preventative maintenance and emergency call-out tasks on plant electrical equipment while always maintaining code regulations, good craftsmanship, quality and professionalism.
- Comply with all safety regulations and practices for this facility.
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as individually to ensure timely repairs through troubleshooting techniques and be able to perform effective preventative maintenance inspections.
- Must be fully conversant with Electrical symbols, reading single line diagrams, electrical prints, P&ID’s and able to find the relevant sections of the code.
- Must be able to research data to identify correct solutions to problems.
- Take a personal interest in personal and team safety, continuously looking for ways to improve safety and assisting others to do the same.
- Perform any and all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Education
High school
Technical knowledge and certifications
- Trade certificate, technical degree, or equivalent preferred
Area of experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in continuous manufacturing facilities or related heavy industry, specifically focused on Maintenance of all facets of electrical and instrument systems.
- Proficient in the repair and troubleshooting of all electrical systems including VFD Drives, Power Distribution Equipment, Control Circuits, Instrumentation, and PLC’s.
