As a Service Electrician at ONYX Electric, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residential customers' safety, functionality, and satisfaction. You will conduct home inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting and provide estimates for various electrical services. You will be expected to perform wiring, light fixture installation, receptacle installation, breaker replacements, and panel upgrades precisely and adhere to NEC codes. Your ability to efficiently manage customer needs, organize service requests, and deliver exceptional service will be critical to your success in this role. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in professional and transparent communication with clients from the first contact, providing detailed explanations of electrical problems or needs and answering any questions to ensure a clear understanding.
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify electrical issues in residential settings, including custom homes, townhouses, apartments, and remodels.
- Develop and present accurate estimates for electrical services, finding optimal technical solutions that align with ONYX Electric's commitment to providing the best possible service. Explain the rationale behind the proposed solutions and ensure client agreement before proceeding.
- Take personal responsibility for each project, including obtaining prepayment, preparing a material list, executing the job, and collecting final payment.
- Perform a wide range of electrical services with precision and adherence to NEC codes, including but not limited to repairs (lighting, outlets, switches), installations (electrical panels, circuit breakers, lighting, outlets, switches, ceiling fans, safety devices, generators, EV chargers), and power restoration.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, ensuring a clean workspace during and after job completion. This is critical in residential settings and reflects ONYX Electric's commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
- Uphold safety standards, adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and ensure installations are completed neatly and workmanlikely.
- Supervise, lead, and train apprentices on your crew, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
- Utilize electronic scheduling systems for job notes, completion status, and photos of work completed, maintaining transparency and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the electrical trade, focusing on residential installations and service.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
- Clean criminal background check and ability to pass a drug test.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in using sales and job tracking software in the field.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. supplemented by vocational/technical certification in electric work.
