Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, particularly in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Utilize various tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, hand tools, and power tools to perform tasks.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and conduct necessary repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Work with low voltage systems and logic controllers as required.
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including frame carpenters, to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as voltmeters and ohmmeters.
- Familiarity with low voltage systems and logic controllers.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and ability to read schematics.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid electrician’s license or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment when necessary.
