General Manager
The General Manager plays a pivotal leadership role within our organization, responsible for overseeing all aspects of branch operations in Portland, OR. This role is crucial in driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering exceptional service to our clients in the HVAC industry. The General Manager will lead by example, embodying our core values of integrity, teamwork, and excellence, while fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration among team members.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure efficient operations, profitability, and sustainable growth. Responsible for the financial performance of the branch.
- Develop and execute business plans, budgets, and strategies aligned with company objectives and targets.
- Lead the branch in achieving sales goals, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding our customer base.
2. Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:
- Oversee day-to-day operations to optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Monitor progress towards goals and adjust strategies as needed to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
3. Financial Management and Budgeting:
- Monitor financial performance, analyze financial data, and prepare regular reports to track profitability, expenses, and revenue targets.
- Make data-driven decisions to optimize financial outcomes and achieve business objectives.
- Implement cost-control measures and efficiency improvements to achieve financial goals.
4. Team Development and Leadership:
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Provide coaching and guidance to team members, promoting a positive work environment and employee engagement.
- Promote professional growth and career development opportunities for employees.
5. Customer and Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry partners to enhance business opportunities and customer satisfaction.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Execute a proactive customer goodwill strategy and monitor customer satisfaction.
6. Technology and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry innovations relevant to HVAC systems and services.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and systems to enhance operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Foster a culture of innovation and encourage experimentation with new ideas and solutions.
7. Risk Management and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Mitigate risks related to operations, safety, legal matters, and financial performance.
- Implement and enforce best practices for safety and operational procedures across the branch.
- Develop contingency plans and response strategies to address potential challenges or crises.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
o Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HVAC or comparable skilled trade business: Plumbing, Electrical, Roofing, Home Improvement, or Construction.
o At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role
o Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build rapport and relationships with diverse stakeholders.
o Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.
o Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving win-win results.
o Proven history of P&L Accountability, Sales, Training/Development, Dispatch; Customer Service.
o Proficient with Microsoft Suite. o Experience with NetSuite ERP and Field Service Management a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
