POSITION SUMMARY
Are you ready to take the helm of our service operations? As a Service Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in steering our service business to new heights. This exciting position requires a blend of technical acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership prowess. You'll be responsible for managing financial results, leading a talented team, and driving the expansion of our service portfolio. What you’ll do:
- Development and Growth of Service Team and its’ offerings: Manage and mentor the service operations team, fostering their technical, supervisory, and leadership skills.
- Create an Employer of Choice culture, attracting and retaining great people, while coaching and mentoring for individual career success that expands the business.
- Oversee Service Team to Deliver Operational Excellence: Ensure quality work is performed in a timely manner for all preventive maintenance contracts, service projects, quoted and T&M work orders within the business portfolio.
- Financial Management: Collaborate with Sales, Supervisors and Service Business Supervisors to develop the department budget, monitor expenses, and ensure efficient and effective operations. Maintain tight cost control and maximize price realization.
- Financial Oversight: Ensure monthly metrics are maintained across roles for billings to be timely, address any customer issues preventing AR delays and deliver targeted financial results. Assist in determining quarterly service sales commission payments.
- Sales Leadership: Provide operational support to the sales team to secure new business and build the sales funnel with opportunities that are supported with field leads, inside sales support and appropriate technical oversight and collaboration from supervisors.
- Customer Satisfaction: Seek and act on customer feedback to ensure satisfaction and continuous improvement.
- Safety and Compliance: Partner with Safety to implement programs, ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements, conduct site inspections, and participate in safety investigations.
- Manage a team of employees with the authority to hire and fire.
- Provide coaching, and performance feedback, and conduct group meetings as needed.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 10+ years in service management for an HVAC Service and/or Projects organization, including people management.
- Business Acumen: Significant experience managing a service business with revenue exceeding $5M.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and direct personnel towards a common goal.
- Communication: Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service skills.
- Project Management: Proficient in project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization.
- Technical Skills: Solid Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills, significant knowledge of HVAC and overall building systems.
- Travel: Some travel is required.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
