This position is supporting the White House, downtown DC. In order to start with the team, you will go through security in-processing & adjudication for a clearance with the federal government. Do NOT apply if not willing & able to obtain clearance & complete required paperwork for site access. This can take 1-4 months unless you already have an active clearance.

- 1st Shift - Monday – Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift – Monday – Thursday 12:30 PM to Midnight
- 3rd Shift – Monday – Thursday 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM
- 4th Shift – Friday – Saturday – Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM (36 hour week, paid for 40)
- 5th Shift – Friday – Saturday – Sunday 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (36 hour week, paid for 40)

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and performance of the HVAC equipment. Extensive knowledge of restricted field. Uses judgment within limits of standard practice. Provides solutions to a wide range of problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough and practical. Objectives are specific.
Responsibilities
- Make periodic inspections of all Engineering systems and equipment and monitoring equipment operations, and maintain equipment operating logs
- Mentor less experienced HVAC Technicians
- Operate and maintain site-critical Engineering systems and equipment that supply the facility with heat, utility and conditioned water, ventilation, air conditioning and other environmental and critical systems in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, industry best practices, and manufacturers specifications
- Monitor and control building equipment; operate facility’s BAS (building automation systems)
- Disable and re-arm fire alarm panels when required
- Proficiently use test equipment and devices pertinent to building operating systems and analyze test results
- Operate and maintain, gas fired steam boilers
- Perform other related duties as requested
- Perform maintenance on Engineering systems and equipment to include such items as, but not limited to, Chiller, IFU, VAV, HVAC Controls, and fire and life safety system sprinkler systems
- Inspect and adjust mechanical equipment and systems; perform specific preventive maintenance service, as well as general maintenance functions while adhering to energy model for building efficiency
- Make periodic inspections of all Engineering systems and equipment and monitoring equipment operations, and maintain equipment operating logs
- Proficiently use test equipment and devices pertinent to building operating systems and analyze test results
- Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences. Respond to emergency situations and perform any and all tasks necessary for the protection of occupants and property
- Under minimal supervision, perform Data Center or mission critical environment maintenance activities
- Operate and maintain critical systems such as HVAC, CRAC units, life safety and building automated systems, and utility systems
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning coils, replacing filters, and lubricating moving parts to ensure the efficient operation of HVAC systems.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components.
- Test HVAC systems to ensure they are operating at optimal performance levels and make adjustments as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safe operation of HVAC equipment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs, service reports, and parts inventory.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients to address their HVAC needs and concerns.

Pay: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour
