Business Development Representative Job Description
Job Summary:
- As a Temporary Wall Systems Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for the presentation, sales, and client relationships relating to on-site containment solution services for our commercial construction clients. The person in this role aggressively pursues new business opportunities, reviews project plans and submits bids, generates sales leads, and maintains consistent contact with existing clientele to ensure growth, strengthen business relationships, and exceed revenue targets. You will build a client base through industry-focused networking, establishing strong partnerships within target markets, and maximizing all opportunities to close sales, while evangelizing Temporary Wall Systems' premium offering and unquestioning commitment to customer satisfaction. An articulate, motivated, and people-oriented attitude is an absolute must to be successful in this role. You are an outgoing, well-spoken sales professional with superior communication skills who has a positive, can-do approach and always goes the extra mile for the client. You are driven to excel, welcome challenges, and provide comprehensive solutions for complex project issues.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and contact industry decision-makers.
- Network consistently via direct outreach, attending events, conducting lunch and learns, and leveraging established relationships.
- Generate and aggressively pursue sales leads.
- Monitor active and upcoming construction plan databases, review invitations to bid on projects, determine scope, and respond within project deadlines.
- Conduct site visits, design, and submit proposals for containment solutions through appropriate channels.
- Create new methods or strategies to help the sales team reach monthly goals for product revenue to increase company profitability.
- Conduct highly effective sales presentations; prepare and deliver estimates to prospects.
- Build and manage an accurate client database.
- Maintain consistent contact with pre-existing clients to ensure strong partnerships and expand market share within their organization.
- Coordinate with project managers to schedule installation, maintenance, and removal of containments.
- Actively participate in marketing campaign design and execution.
- Set and achieve sales goals and all relevant metric targets (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly).
- Maintain a strong understanding of product inventory, features, and technical specifications to answer specific customer questions.
- Attend weekly team meetings and provide information to management about sales figures, objectives, and challenges.
- Represent the Temporary Wall Systems brand in a professional and accommodating manner at all times, and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
Required
- Three or more years of experience in outside sales with at least one year in a construction-related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communication, or another field.
- Ability to meet goals, stay organized with attention to detail, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Excellent ability to communicate both in writing and verbally.
- Friendly and personable with a genuine desire to serve the customer.
Preferred
- Experience reading demolition/construction plans and submitting bids.
- Proficiency with technology, digital measuring tools, and database management.
- Experience in the commercial construction industry.
- Business-to-business sales background.
