Key Responsibilities
As a Master Plumber, the individual is expected to handle a range of duties, from designing intricate plumbing systems to overseeing their installation and maintenance. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing comprehensive plumbing systems for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Inspecting and reviewing projects to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes.
- Leading, scheduling, and monitoring the work of other plumbers and assistants.
- Performing routine maintenance and emergency repairs to keep systems operational.
- Estimating time, costs, and resources required for jobs.
- Advising clients on various plumbing systems and necessary maintenance practices.
- Maintaining accurate records of projects, including compliance documentation and job reports.
Tasks and Duties
The day-to-day tasks of a Master Plumber are varied, touching on multiple aspects of plumbing. Common duties include:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
- Collaborating with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters on building projects.
- Testing plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.
- Analysing blueprints and architectural plans to assess material requirements and planning plumbing installation strategies.
- Clearing obstructions from sink drains and toilets.
- Troubleshooting and resolving problems related to low water pressure and other issues.
- Ensuring safety standards and building regulations are met at all times.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $41.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
