Comptech Solutions is currently hiring experienced individuals that have knowledge in the field of Structured Cabling for work at various retail locations. Currently a part time position is available for a lead tech.
We are willing to start pay off at $25/hr with experience and offer more depending on your level of experience. We pay over time rates for any over night work, all weekend work, and most same day dispatches regardless of your accumulated hours.
Responsibilities:
Adding or repairing voice or data cabling/jacks, installing network equipment (racking/stacking), installing APs, among other related activities.
Possess a vehicle to drive and preform service calls around and outside the city.
About 2-3 times a week there will be paid travel (at your hourly rate) to perform work in nearby cities such as New Braunfels, Pleasanton, San Marcos, Kerville, Austin, or possibly even Victoria. Usual travel time to locations is about an hour. Rarely do locations exceed two hours drive time to reach destination.
Availability during normal work hours of 8-5pm during the week.
Requirements:
Experience running and terminating Cat5 cable.
Experience troubleshooting phone lines and terminating to 66 blocks.
Possess all tools to complete low voltage cabling work described above. Such as:
Punch down tool
Cat5 Tester
Cable Toner
Cat5 Crimper
Fish Wire
Laptop
Basic Hand tools
Drill
A-Frame Ladder at least 5 foot
Label Maker (not immediately necessary)
Cell phone
Comfortable with climbing ladders.

Mandatory routine drug test.
Helpful (but not necessary) Experience :
Computer Repair and Hardware.
Phone System Programming and troubleshooting.
Cable management and Structured cabling.
Phone line trouble shooting.
Fiber optic termination and installation.
CCTV installation and troubleshooting.
Experience with tools such as toners, fish wire, cable certification, RJ-45 Crimpers, RG-6 Crimpers, Hammer drills, Impedance meters and Multi meters
.
Certifications in Alarms, A+, Network+, Avaya, Cisco, CCNA, Samsung, Nortel, and Bosch IP Cameras.
ELECTRICIANS apprenticeship, journeyman, or master electrician also would be a plus and would mean higher pay.
