Walker Mechanical in Burlington, MA is a long-time provider of commercial HVAC services in Massachusetts. We are looking for a dedicated HVAC Apprentice to join our team.
Position Overview: As an apprentice technician on our team, you will be in the field with our experienced technicians/ mechanics to play a critical support role to them. While assisting them, they mentor and train you on everything you need to know from how to service, install, and maintain commercialheating and cooling systems, to how to provide exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and motivated to further their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist HVAC Mechanic in servicing and installing heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems on commercial properties
- Measure and prepare the materials required for HVAC repairs or installations
- Troubleshoot for problems such as leaks and malfunctions.
- Install air and water filters on various HVAC equipment
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of ducts and ducting systems
- Pick up and deliver parts approved and required for job
- Take time every day to clean job site and truck
Qualifications:
- Mechanically inclined and working knowledge of hand tools
- Must be enrolled in or have completed related course programs at a local trade school
- Must be willing to participate in continuing education classes as needed to acquire the following certifications and licenses:
- Massachusetts Refrigeration License – Apprentice
- EPA & OSHA Certification
- Must hold a valid state driver’s license and have a clean driving record
