As a Technician, you will serve as the face of “1 Source Portable Air" to our customers and communities. You will be responsible for the Service, Repair, Rebuild, Delivery and Installation of Rental Equipment in a safe, prompt, and professional manner leaving a positive impact, and completely satisfy our customers. As a 24/7 operation, we are typically open Monday through Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, but we are never closed, so expect opportunities for overtime, weekend work, late nights and early mornings based on customer demand, and Rotating On-Call.
Job requirements: We are seeking a reliable and safety-minded Service Technician committed to providing exceptional customer service. You should also be highly organized with strong time-management and prioritization skills. The ability to work independently of step by step guidance and make informed decisions by yourself is a key component to success. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate and maintain professional and cooperative relationships with both customers and colleagues.
Product Specific Requirements:
- Working knowledge of heat pumps, furnaces, direct and indirect fired heaters, burners (diesel and LP/NG), and other related portable/temporary heating equipment from 200,000 BTU up to 2,000,000 BTU.
- One year experience in HVAC including Air Conditioning system working knowledge & understanding, EPA Certification is not a requirement
- One year experience with Preventative Maintenance and light repairs on 74HP and under diesel engines
- Demonstrated capacity to learn through a hands on and direct application environment provided by existing technician team where desired experience is not thorough enough
- Familiarity with workflow commonly found in repair facilities and ability to adopt 1 Source Rentals best practices
- Other desirable skills include use of Refrigerant Gauges, Welding & Metal Fabrication, 12VDC and 24VDC diagnostics and repairs, Single Phase & Three Phase understanding up to 480VAC and general maintenance of Heating and Air Conditioning equipment, 1.5kW to 150kW Electric Heaters
Out of State Hands On Training may take place during the 1st 4-6 weeks at one of our branches; company paid travel expenses & accommodations will be provided for the selected candidates. During this time you will have the opportunity to learn about the various equipment we operate in our fleet, demonstrate your capabilities as a technician, and participate in the support of a variety of customer orders being fulfilled spanning our product line.
Personal Requirements:
· Clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED
- 21 years of age or older
- Current own personal tools and ability to purchase or source own tools as job skill progresses
- Willingness to submit to and pass background check and drug screening test
- Physically adept to lift up-to 75 pounds
- Ability to use a GPS, read a map or understanding of geographic area
- Demonstrated ability to drive “safe” in various road and environmental conditions
- Willingness to participate in yearly physical inventories, seasonal preparation activities, and other non routine requirements not directly related to the repair and maintenance of our equipment
