Job Description: Responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating various electrical, mechanical, and electronic instrumentation and control systems used in industrial processes, ensuring proper operation of equipment by monitoring readings, identifying malfunctions, and performing necessary repairs according to established safety and compliance standards; often requiring the interpretation of technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and operating manuals.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Installing new instrumentation and control systems, including wiring, connecting sensors, and configuring programming on PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Regularly inspecting, testing, and calibrating instruments like pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature sensors, and level transmitters to ensure accuracy.
- Diagnosing malfunctions in control systems, identifying faulty components, and repairing or replacing them as needed.
- Monitoring process variables and system performance through control panels and computer interfaces, identifying potential issues based on readings.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures, including cleaning, lubrication, and component checks.
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, calibration results, and system modifications.
- Adhering to safety procedures and protocols while working on industrial equipment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and electronic principles, familiarity with industrial instrumentation and control systems.
