Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the University Hospitals Authority & Trust (UHAT) Chief Operations Officer (COO), and the Director of Facilities Management, the Building Systems & Energy Manager provides strategic leadership for 1CALL/UHAT's building automation systems, controls infrastructure, and energy management initiatives. This leadership-level position is responsible for overseeing technical operations, driving operational efficiency, and maintaining regulatory compliance through process-driven management systems.

Qualifications- Required
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
· 10+ years of experience in building automation systems
· 5+ years of experience in energy management
· 5+ years of management experience
· Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
· Strong process development and documentation skills
· Excellence in stakeholder management and communication
Qualifications- Preferred
· Master's degree in related field
· Professional Engineer (PE) license
· Additional certifications: PMP, LEED AP
· Healthcare facilities management experience
· Successful participation with ISO management systems
· Background in mechanical systems and controls

Primary Responsibilities
· Provide strategic oversight of BAS/controls infrastructure initiatives
· Direct development of technical standards and specifications
· Lead strategic planning for system upgrades and retrofits
· Oversee quality management processes
· Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation
· Ensure optimal performance of building control systems
· Direct development of technical documentation and procedures
· Oversee system integration and optimization initiatives
· Lead implementation and maintenance of ISO50001 Energy Management System
· Lead the Energy Management Committee
· Develop and execute strategic energy initiatives
· Lead cross-departmental collaboration for energy performance improvement
· Oversee energy data analytics and reporting programs
· Present energy performance metrics to executive leadership
· Drive continuous improvement in energy efficiency
· Budget, plan, and manage energy-related capital projects
· Mentor and develop BAS and HVAC technical staff
· Establish performance metrics and growth objectives
· Foster innovation and continuous improvement
· Build strategic partnerships across departments
· Lead change management initiatives
· Drive organizational culture focused on technical excellence
· Manage team workload and resource allocation
· Ensure effective communication across all levels

The position is an office-based position with regular visits to work sites on campus. While performing the duties of this job, the colleague is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear; use hands to handle objects or controls. On occasion, the colleague may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The position may also require work in confined spaces and exposure to different types of outdoor weather conditions.
The colleague must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
