Job Title: Process Technician (Travel - IN, CA & NC)

About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Process Technician (Travel - IN< CA, NC) to perform preventive maintenance, calibration, setup, and repairs on process instruments and systems associated with GMP/GLP equipment. The role focuses on maintaining electrical equipment to ensure a safe and productive work environment while supporting long-term research studies, lab facilities, and pilot plant operations.
This role places a strong emphasis on customer service, asset utilization, and collaboration to help clients drive scientific innovation. The position may require occasional out-of-state travel to sites in CA, NC, and ME (approximately 3-4 weeks per year).
What You’ll Do:
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, repairs, and troubleshooting on all process-related instrumentation equipment in the building.
- Work closely with process engineers and lab chemists to identify and address equipment or method issues.
- Maintain and repair systems, including pressure and temperature transmitters/controllers, agitator RPM controllers, analysis transmitters (pH and DO2), Delta V Foundation Fieldbus, DeviceNet, PLC-controlled devices, and related data/communication equipment.
What You’ll Need:
- Expertise in diagnosing and calibrating sensors, transmitters, controllers, and actuators, including repairing control modules, replacing components, and handling mechanical parts.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic wiring schematics, laboratory equipment piping flow diagrams, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in operating advanced test equipment, including Fluke 754 process calibrators, signal generators, calibrators, and oscilloscopes.
- Solid understanding of the installation, qualification, and validation processes, with excellent documentation skills.
- Experience maintaining and repairing electronic controls on complex systems such as HVAC equipment, variable speed controllers, lighting, and process systems.
- Education & Experience:
- Minimum of a 2-year Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of field experience with calibration, repair, and service related to process instrumentation, or completion of a four-year electrical trade apprenticeship.
- Proficiency with temperature, humidity, and pressure transmitters.
