As the residential HVAC Service Manager, you’ll oversee a talented team of technicians and play a pivotal role in shaping the department’s success. You’ll be empowered to lead, train, and mentor, ensuring each team member reaches their full potential.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and lead a high-performing team of residential HVAC technicians, focusing on skill-building, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Train and mentor service technicians to enhance their sales skills, with a focus on promoting HVAC retrofit installations and additional products, such as Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) solutions, to meet customer needs and drive revenue growth.
- Develop and implement effective sales training programs for service technicians, ensuring they can confidently identify customer needs and recommend HVAC upgrades, retrofit installations, and value-added products.
- Monitor and assess technician performance, offering regular feedback and coaching.
- Conduct weekly team meetings to review goals, discuss challenges, and align on safety and service standards.
- Work closely with dispatch and customer service to streamline operations and meet client needs.
- Optimize schedules to ensure timely service while managing seasonal demands.
- Analyze departmental metrics and prepare reports to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least five (5) years of experience in residential HVAC service, sales, or a leadership role within the industry.
- Demonstrated ability to train and develop service technicians in consultative sales techniques, including selling HVAC retrofit installations and related products.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, retrofit solutions, and value-added products such as IAQ equipment.
- A proven track record of successfully managing a service team.
- Familiarity with industry-specific tools and software (e.i. ServiceTitan, HouseCall Pro).
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with a focus on driving results.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service and fostering team growth.
- Eligibility to pass background checks and drug screening.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
