The Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of installing and servicing HVAC projects. Implements quality assurance programs/procedures to ensure customer satisfaction and to strengthen customer relationships.Initiate and maintain client liaison to resolve issues and ensure client satisfaction. Oversee the process of ordering and receiving materials and equipment for scheduled jobs. Daily engagement in the established work order process to ensure work order accuracy and completeness. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and have a proven track record in HVAC/R systems. This role involves overseeing field service operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage, develop and support the install staff of 5+ employees, including discipline, technical guidance and performance evaluation to support overall departmental goals and objectives.
- Monitor the scheduling of technicians, evaluate workload, direct work assignments and adapt work priorities to increase efficiency and productivity and maximize profits.
- Oversee the process of ordering and receiving materials and equipment for scheduled jobs.

- Daily engagement in the established work order process to ensure work order accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain compliance with local and national HVAC regulations, building codes, and safety protocols.

- Prepare and present quotes for add-on/replacement of equipment.
- Weekly Inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order and secure.Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with heating, cooling, and refrigeration equipment.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/R systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians on best practices in HVAC maintenance and repair.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and equipment installations.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to address HVAC-related issues in residential or commercial properties.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as an ohmmeter for troubleshooting electrical components.
- Experience in building and plumbing systems as they relate to HVAC installations.
- Familiarity with field service operations within the HVAC/R industry.
- Knowledge of boiler systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Ability to perform equipment repairs efficiently while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Document work performed and communicate findings to the supervisor.
Required skills and experience
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, including residential and commercial applications.
- Proven success managing skilled trade personnel such as HVAC technicians.
- Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and clients.
- Education or hands-on experience in HVACsystems.

- Technical training in HVAC installation or a

- 2+ years experience in HVAC service operations
- Physical requirements (if any) Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of working in confined spaces, such as attics or crawlspaces.
- Comfortable working at heights, using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts.
- Ability to stand and walk and to climb ladders and attic stairs and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access HVAC units. Ability to continually climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to the following: hot, cold, outdoor, indoor, dry, humid, slippery surfaces, heights, and congested areas. Ability to safely climb 300lb load capacity rated ladders with a 30lb tool belt.
- Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal
- depth perception.
