Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As a critical member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for Hillsborough County School District. We are looking for skilled candidates that are looking to have a consistent Monday-Friday schedule 7:30am-4:30pm and to be home for dinner every night.
Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems, including air conditioning, boilers, and chillers.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including filter replacements and electrical checks.
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and recommend solutions.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment and appliances, including those with ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Operate an ohmmeter and other specialized tools.
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed.
- Ensure all work is done in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in HVAC/R or a related field.
- Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or in a related field, such as appliance repair or mechanic work.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R systems, including air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to use an ohmmeter and other specialized tools.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is an asset.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.08 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Ohmmeter: 2 years (Preferred)
- HVAC: 3 years (Required)
- HVAC/R: 3 years (Required)
- Mechanical knowledge: 3 years (Required)
