We are seeking an experienced technician who has vast working knowledge of security and access control systems. You will install, program, maintain, and repair security, access control, video or fire alarm wiring and equipment for all commercial and residential projects. In this position, you will follow safety practices and standard codes to meet high-quality standards.

Job Tasks
- Install security, fire, access, cameras and entry system. Able to follow blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans
- Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting of security, fire, access control, and video surveillance systems.
- Program and repair security, fire, access control and video surveillance systems.
- Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Inspect safety equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Service, inspect and test fire alarm systems.
- Confer with customers or users to assess problems.
- Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components.
- Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, or floors
- Mount raceways and conduits and fasten wires to wood framing
- Run wiring to connect equipment
- Adjust sensitivity of units, based on room structures and manufacturers' recommendations.
- Update older systems for changes, cost reductions, improvements, safety, and quality control
- Repair broken equipment and wiring
- Perform and analyze tests to track results and make improvements
- Work with customers or users to assess problems and make recommendations
- Perform calibrations for wire placement and electronic components
- Participate in test runs and meet safety regulations
- Ability to be available on call when scheduled.
Technician Requirements and Qualifications
- Power Limited Tech License or Registered Unlicensed Power Limited Tech (Preferred)
- 3 years of installation experience with security, fire and access panels
- Some network programming skills
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or on multiple projects
- Willing to take initiative to recommend projects, product improvements, or cost reductions
- In-depth understanding of security regulations, construction, materials, and industry
- Strict attention to detail
- Technical school degree and certification for technicians; license as required by state
- Experience as a technician, technician apprentice, or relevant work experience
- Proficient computer skills, able to use computers to program, set up functions, enter data, or process information
- Excellent communicator; able to understand instructions and communicate effectively
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal property and safety regulations
- Strong mathematical and technical skills
- Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
- Able to form constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time
- Strong desire to learn and willingness to take direction

Pay: $27.00 - $38.00 per hour
