Carrier Transicold of Detroit is an authorized Carrier Transportation Refrigeration company providing service, warranty, parts, and new product sales. We are a family owned and operated business that has been around for over 50 years and takes great pride in treating our employees as family. We are currently seeking an experienced Reefer Technician for our facility in Lincoln Park, MI.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Will specialize in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing Carrier and Thermo King reefers and auxiliary power units
- Positive interface with service writers, leadership team, parts department, drivers, vendors, and customers
- Use computers to record repair orders on all work performed daily
- Work safely and follow company safety standards
- Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor
Job Requirements:
- Must have own set of general tools
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the employer’s insurance policy, A CDL license is a plus but not mandatory.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, materials, methods, and equipment to perform, prioritize, and complete job assignments.
- Proficient with computer operation and usage
- Certified to use refrigerants, R134a, R404, R410 and others as needed
Helpful Attributes:
- Experience operating mobile service truck
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to use laptop computer and / or reference repair manuals to diagnose problems
