The HVAC Technician II (Building Equip Op I) offers experienced HVAC/Mechanical Systems Technicians the opportunity to join our team in performing skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, operation, repair, and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems/components and other mechanical equipment, including automatic doors/gates, pumps, air compressors, and fire/life safety systems, in one or more public buildings. Vacancies are anticipated over the life of the eligible-to-hire list. This position often works independently, requiring a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work alone.
Aviation Department
Aviation employees can be assigned to work shifts within the 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week business operating hours. Depending on the crew¿s assignment, you could be assigned to a first, second, third, weekend, or split shifts and holidays.

HVAC Technician I (Building Equip Op I) team members are currently assigned 10-hour workdays and may include weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
Currently there are 5 different 4-10 shifts:
- Sunday-Wednesday 5:00am - 3:30pm
- Sunday-Wednesday 2:30pm - 1:00am
- Monday-Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm
- Wednesday-Saturday 5:00am - 3:30pm
- Wednesday-Saturday 2:30pm - 1:00am
Assignment to shifts are decided by an annual shift selection process based on seniority. Team members will be paid a shift differential for hours worked on nights and/or weekends.
Public Works Department
Hours for this role include either:
- Four 10-hour shifts are available working Monday through Thursday from 6:30am - 5:00pm. Days off are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Four 10-hour shifts are available working Tuesday through Friday from 6:30am - 5:00pm. Days off are Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
- Five 8-hour shifts are available working Monday through Friday from 6:30am - 3:00pm.
