Management of assigned Engineering division, as well as, Project Management, oversight of administrative and other off-site campus locations. Management and coordination of Office assignments, relocations, and changes at our corporate sites. Repair and Construction Services. The job also includes financial planning and management of the Preventative Maintenance Program.
Department Day-To-Day Operations * a. Coordinates with Supervisors that the interior and exterior of assigned facilities are at a desired level. b. Facilitates interior signage program if applicable by coordinating with department management in ordering replacement signage for new construction and supervising installation. c. Schedules and/or conducts routine visits of the facilities maintained keeping them to an established WellStar level of appearance and operation. d. Maintains accurate logs and ledgers for local, state and federal requirements and in keeping with WellStar standards. e. Takes an active role meeting the needs of facility management. f. Communicates well with all levels of management. g. Keeps an accurate updated list and status of WellStar off-campus facilities. h. Coordinates with leadership and supervisors to plan and implement equipment and system upgrades and replacement to avoid costly repairs and down-time. i. Ensures fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems are in proper working order. j. Ensures all medical gas systems are in proper working order. k. Ensures all domestic water and sewage systems are in proper working order. l. Accurately maintains all P.M.s related to his/her section including plumbing, electrical, medical gases, auto doors, fire systems, etc. Financial Planning * a. Assist with managing approved capital items with a current and accurate balance at all times to ensure the allocated money is utilized as planned and paid before the end of the fiscal year. b. Assists in developing an operational and capital budget. c. Understands and implements the proper accounting procedures for the charging of parts and labor to the appropriate charge codes. d. Understands and adheres to the procedure for approval of purchases. e. Monthly Engineering billing sent to proper personnel. f. Assist in managing the department operational budget by tracking expenses. g. Manages approved capital items and projects. h. Evaluates, updates and implements changes to improve energy conservation. i. Advises department Director in long- and short-term capital plans. Department Operations * a. Coordinates with Direct Reports to schedule work duties in a timely, cost efficient manner. b. Reviews construction drawings for assigned facilities. c. Completes special projects and assignments in a thorough and timely fashion. d. Ensures cost effective control of parts and materials used within the section. e. Properly manages and coordinates with Supervisors and Team Leaders if applicable On-Call responsibilities and performs follow-up with written and verbal reports. f. Special tasks as assigned. g. Prepares and submits weekly project status report of special projects. h. Coordinate with Direct Reports that their Direct Reports complete daily paperwork in a timely and thorough manner. Personnel Management * a. Schedules work duties in a timely, cost efficient manner. b. Complies with department shift start/stop and break times. c. Projects sections personnel needs and changes. d. Perform Annual Personnel Evaluations and related duties. High school diploma High School graduate Required or GED equivalent Required and Bachelor's Degree Preferred
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Minimum 5 years professional work experience in managing Facility Engineering operations with a high level of knowledge related to Joint Commission, CMS and LSC Compliance. Required
Possess excellent communication skills with ability to effectively manage maintenance and engineering work force. Computer literate with excellent technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and skills using PC.
