Exciting opportunity to work with a prominent BAS contractor as a Building Automation Programmer on commercial construction projects in Raleigh.
The ideal candidate will have programming and commissioning experience with multiple HVAC control systems, including Siemens, Niagara/Tridium, and/or Distech.
- Programming Siemens PPCL, DXRS, and Desigo
- Programming Distech Controls Systems
- Program Tridium Niagara AX and N4 based systems
- Program and test DDC control sequences based on engineered drawings
- Integrate building equipment and legacy controllers using LonWorks, BACnet, Modbus, and third-party protocols
- Startup and Commission DDC systems
- Provide training for customers
- Maintain well-documented startup and commissioning reports
- Provide as-built drawings to DDC engineers
- Provide daily updates to project managers
- Work is typically performed both in the office and onsite at customer facilities.
- Travel to client sites in varying weather conditions is routine and subject to commercial building and construction site conditions.
- The role requires physical demands, including sitting, occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and significant fine motor skills.
- Post-high school vocational school, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.
- Minimum 3 years of DDC controls programming experience, including integrations (a combination of education and experience may be considered).
- Comprehensive knowledge of BAS controls concepts and applications.
- Strong understanding of commercial building mechanical and electrical operations.
- Must pass a background check to gain access to various types of facilities.
- Must be able to pass any required drug test and new-hire physical examination.
- Professional image in personal appearance and behavior.
- Ability to prioritize work and organize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Mature judgment and self-starter with a desire for continued learning.
- Siemens Controls (Talon and/or DXR) programming experience preferred; related experience with other line-code-based control systems also a plus.
- Tridium AX or N4 certification a plus.
- Experience with Distech BACnet and LonWorks is desirable.
- Experience in Web-enabled Building Automation and Integration programming and engineering.
- Experience in BAS graphics generation from standardized library.
- Knowledge of IP LAN and WAN, including routers.
