Job Title: Chiller Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Chiller Technician to join our clients team in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with full chiller repairs, including complete tear downs, replacements, and troubleshooting. A strong background working with both air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems is essential for this role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial and industrial chiller systems, ensuring all systems operate at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform full chiller repairs, including complete tear downs, system diagnosis, component replacement, and reassembly.
- Install, maintain, and repair air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to refrigerant circuits, electrical systems, compressors, evaporators, and other critical components.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on chiller systems, ensuring all units are functioning properly.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical malfunctions in chiller systems.
- Replace and/or repair critical components such as compressors, evaporators, pumps, valves, and coils as needed.
- Work with team members to execute complex repairs and ensure projects are completed efficiently and to specification.
- Maintain accurate service records, document repairs, and track inventory of replacement parts.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, including those related to refrigerants.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about maintenance, repairs, and system recommendations.
- Respond to emergency service calls and manage priority repairs during off-hours or weekends when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the safety of all personnel.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC or refrigeration preferred.
- EPA Section 608 Certification or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with full chiller repairs, including tear downs and complete replacements.
- Extensive experience with both air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and after-hours, to meet client needs.
