Who You Are: The Assistant Director of Facilities is responsible for co-managing the care and maintenance of all aspects of the physical plant; the hiring, training, and supervising of all plant personnel; the coordinating of life safety program; and the procuring of supplies, materials, and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Establish routine and preventative maintenance schedules for the checking of all equipment and buildings.
- Supervise the performance of Plant associates, contracted services, and subcontractors.
- Assist with training and evaluating of Plant staff.
- Provide input regarding staff disciplinary issues and annual evaluations.
- Maintain operation of Plant HVAC, Life Safety; emergency medical and power generating systems and equipment.
- Coordinate and supervise Contractors and Maintenance operations and projects.
- Maintain the fire systems and safety equipment within the Westminster community.
- Implement established and required changes in emergency policies and procedures.
- Coordinate work efforts of the maintenance department with all other departments.
- Advise and consult with the Plant Director on maintenance and repair needs concerning structure, equipment, and grounds.
- Inspect equipment and systems regularly for proper functioning and safety. Inspects building and grounds regularly for compliance with Extraordinary Impressions Standards, local codes, ordinances, and safety regulations.
- Fill in to complete work orders or apartment refurbishment as needed.
- Delegate authority to staff for task details to facilitate the smooth flow of materials and services.
- Daily maintenance, distribution , and updates of the community work order system
- Responsible for campus wide communication of on-going projects and service disruptions.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Qualifications:
- Five years’ experience in plant operations, and/or trades such as plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, ground maintenance, masonry, and/or maintenance with minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity. Previous remodeling experience or building construction experience preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
