Title: Lead HVAC Installer (Residential)
Location: Office in Oakland, Service Area Alameda and Contra Costa County
Employment Type: 32-40 hours a week, 7:30 am- 4 pm with 30 minute lunch break
Our residential HVAC client is looking for a skilled Lead HVAC Installer to join their team. In this union role, you will work alongside junior installers, traveling to homeowners' residences to deliver expert HVAC installation services. What You'll Do
- Lead and perform installations of residential HVAC systems, with a strong focus on heat pumps and mini-split systems
- Provide training and mentorship to junior installers, focusing on proper installation techniques and troubleshooting for heat pumps and mini-split systems.
- Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate installations of heat pumps, mini-splits, and related components.
- Perform quality checks on all completed installations, ensuring compliance with company standards, manufacturer specifications, and local building codes.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, addressing questions or concerns and providing excellent customer service throughout the installation process.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in good working condition.
- Adhere to and enforce all company policies, safety standards, and procedures during installations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues or installation challenges, particularly with heat pumps and mini-split systems.
- Prepare and submit accurate job reports, including materials used, time spent, and any additional notes or recommendations.
About You
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC installation as a Lead, with a proven track record of working with heat pumps and mini-split systems.
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, particularly heat pumps and mini-splits, as well as tools and installation practices.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals for heat pumps and mini-split systems.
- Ability to make calculations with percentages and decimals
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead a team and interact with clients effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a zero points driving record, REQUIRED
- Experience installing heat pumps of the following brands: Mitsubishi, Bryant, Lennox, Carrier, American Standard, Bosch, Fujitsu
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require standing, bending, or climbing.
- Experience with Service and selling, a plus
- Plumbing or electrical experience, a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour
