Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical systems, particularly in commercial settings. This role involves working on construction sites, performing installations, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems while ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints, as well as working with high voltage systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial buildings.
- Utilize hand tools and voltmeters to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NEC standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure timely project completion.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or malfunctions.
- Work at heights, including on roofs, to install or repair electrical components as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters.
- Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety practices in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including schematics and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a team.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy materials and working at heights.

Work ranges from 3 story boom lift residential/ commercial to flat mounted roofs, to ground mounts, pole mounts, and service/ repair and battery backup/ generator options.
Usually 2 installs a week and 1-2 service/ repair jobs needing an electrician

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 50 per week

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- On call
