HVAC/Commercial Food Equipment Service Technician
Vanco is Not owned by private equity , we are independently owned and operated since 1971. All decisions for the company are made right here in central Indiana on a daily basis. Vanco supports promoting from within, our Leadership team all have field experience . Owner , Electrical Project Manager, Controller previously residential HVAC technician , VP of Operations 17 years in the field as a Commercial Kitchen Equipment Technician, Service Manager previously Commercial Kitchen Technician . We are not asking our technicians to achieve a monthly sales budget , we ask our technicians to simply take care of the customer. We have an onsite training kitchen used to host manufacturers who come in to offer our team members' further training. We additionally reimburse education that is business related for our team members. Vanco is a growing company that has doubled in size in the past 5 years .

We are currently seeking a trusted and reliable Service Technician to join our team. We are currently looking to fill technician positions in Louisville Ky.
Responsibilities Include:
- Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
- Work with and get along with Team members
- Communicating with the customer in a professional manner to explain the problem and potential options for the solution
- Able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
- Two years similar experience and/or training in refrigeration equipment
- The ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on fryers, ranges, griddles, rotisseries, warmers, smokers, convection ovens and high tech combination ovens, hot hold cabinets, food wells, steam tables, and thermal shelves. (Cold side repair experience welcome as well.)
- Experience with Gas, electric and steam.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, hoists, rigging equipment, torches and measuring equipment to perform service of the unit.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force (pulling, pushing, lifting, carrying, etc.) regularly and up to 50 pounds of force frequently.
- Ability to climb and work from 6ft ladder, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, twist, grasp to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to tolerate extreme environmental conditions consisting of extreme heat, cold, noise, vibration, fumes, dust, and poor ventilation.
- Use mobile tablet to complete work/service orders and other documentation
- Operate a commercial vehicle and trailer in a safe manner and adhere to all company safety requirements.
- Work flexible hours as required as well as on-call nights and weekends when assigned.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the customer,
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision;
Basic Qualifications Include:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Availability to run On-Call and Emergency service calls in a rotating schedule
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Refrigeration / HVAC license.
- EPA Certifications
- RSES Certification
- CFESA Certification
- Technical trade school education
- Similar job experience and work history
