About This Role:
Under general supervision, the Facility Engineer assesses the facility's resource requirements and creates HVAC mechanical designs based on corporate and tenant office layouts. This role aids in optimizing the facility's layout and critical operational systems. Other responsibilities include maintaining infrastructure and equipment for all company facilities, including retail branches and corporate office buildings; acting as the secondary contact for emergency situations that affect Amplify branches and the ability to open for business; and performing general cleaning of facilities as necessary. This position will also coordinate and oversee outside contractors or vendors for various services.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspects buildings and other structures to ensure systems are function and detect malfunctions and issues needing repair or maintenance; makes notes and recommendations using a pre-established check sheet and communicates that information to the Director
- Performs electrical maintenance including but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.)
- Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing of water filters for fridges and water fountains)
- Gathers and analyzes data, blueprints, and reports related to building systems such as the HVAC
- Determines HVAC equipment sizing for optimal air handling based on cubic footage of the office space
- Evaluates operational systems and facility infrastructure to identify and improve operational efficiencies
- Develops processing plans to calculate heat load and air flow with the goal of optimizing resource allocation
- Plans and coordinates infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules and activities
- Coordinates contractors performing maintenance activities; Monitors contractor performance and works closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and on budget
- Ensures compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards; Prepares reports and compliance documentation
- Orders parts, oversees third party maintenance, and maintains required documents for warranties related to companys mechanical equipment
- Assists with maintaining building security and immediately responds to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis
- Works independently to complete daily work lists provided by the manager while maintaining communication of progress and needs; Responds timely to e-mails and phone requests from manager and employees
- Upholds credit union policies and procedures and champions organizational culture both internally and externally
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not have direct reports but does supervise outside vendors and contractors and may provide oversight and training to facilities technicians.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or technical school certificate and three years of facilities-related experience conducting repairs in minor electrical and plumbing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 5 years of experience with HVAC/mechanical installation and repair, completing major repairs/installation and maintenance, as well as 5 years of experience in the field managing preventive maintenance (PM).
Also required: experience in project management related to facilities planning; experience with people management.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have active Class A HVAC license, and a clear driving record (no moving violations). Must be bondable by a credit union and insurable for operating a motor vehicle.
Software & Equipment Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of and be proficient in the use of a personal computer and Microsoft Office software. Advanced skills with ACAD, Visio, and Wrightsoft.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to work flexible hours to aid with work vendors may have to conduct outside of normal company operational hours.

The employee must be able to occasionally: lift up to 80 pounds when working with air conditioning coolant or other equipment; bend at the waist, sit, kneel, lie horizontally, climb, and walk in order to perform repairs and inspections; use color vision to identify color coded labels on coolants and gases; use hearing to perform specific sound checks that ensure equipment is operating properly.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise level may occasionally require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs. This position at times may require the handling of lubricating fluids, cleaning solvents, batteries, paints, and coolants. The position may be exposed to the elements when traveling between worksites. This position has indirect exposure to possible robbery when addressing maintenance issues at or delivering mail to banking branches.

Pay & Benefits
This position offers a pay rate of $85,280/annually. It also entails the benefits available to all Amplify employees, including a 401(k) with a company match of 100% on the first 5% you contribute.
