DFM manages over 400 County buildings, ensuring they are maintained at the highest level to provide a comfortable environment for employees and the public. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORThe Department of General Services, Division of Facilities Management seeks an interested individual to be responsible for journeyman level work involving the installation, operation, modification, repair, troubleshooting, and testing of new and existing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and associated equipment located in commercial sized-government facilities throughout Montgomery County.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
This is journey level work involving the installation, operation, modification, repair, troubleshooting and testing of new and existing heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and associated equipment. Duties also include performing routine and complex preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment. The employee will be responsible for removing, calibrating, overhauling, and replacing associated instruments and controls in the air conditioning, ventilating and heating systems pumps, chemical feeders, valves, traps, boilers, burners, monitors and other safety devices. This employee will also install, maintain and repair refrigeration equipment which includes refrigerators, freezers, and drinking fountains. This position is considered Essential and employees are required to respond or may be placed on stand-by duty during severe weather or other urgent conditions. Employee must have the ability to work standby shifts and respond to after-hours emergency service calls. Work schedule may change to include weekends and/or evenings as part of the regular workweek.
